About Arista Networks
Arista Networks builds scalable high-performance and ultra-low-latency networks for data center and cloud computing environments. Arista cloud networking serves data center, hybrid cloud, campus, wide area, and low-latency environments. Arista says the principles of its cloud networking include open APIs, programmability at every layer, cloud automation, self-service zero-touch provisioning, and a standards-based Universal Cloud Network (UCN) deployment architecture.[5]
Arista says its data-driven cloud networking uses an open approach around the Arista EOS network stack and NetDL. Arista applies AI/ML to automation and security challenges. Arista EOS NetDL consolidates datasets for applying AI/ML methods in NetOps and SecOps environments and presents a single API surface for network and network-related data. Arista Autonomous Virtual Assist (Arista AVA™) is Arista’s AI technology. Arista says AVA can address challenges in Network Detection and Response (NDR), Quality of Experience (QoE) management, and proactive NetOps.[5]
Arista Extensible Operating System (EOS®) is the core of Arista cloud networking solutions for data centers and cloud networks. Arista describes EOS as a Linux-based network operating system that runs a single binary software image across the Arista switching family. EOS is packaged as bundled EOS on Arista switches, Containerized EOS (cEOS), or virtualized EOS (vEOS). Arista EOS enables programmatic control of the network. Arista Smart System Upgrade (SSU) reduces maintenance windows through intelligent insertion and removal of network elements. Arista offers Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and Zero Touch Replacement (ZTR) for new and replacement switches.[6]
CloudVision is Arista’s network operation, automation, and visibility platform. Arista says CloudVision provides domain-specific features in data center, campus wired and wireless, and cloud networks and helps enterprises simplify network operations by breaking down traditional network management silos. CloudVision integrates the physical network with solutions from Arista ecosystem partners, including VMware, OpenStack, Palo Alto Networks, Microsoft, and many others. CloudEOS is Arista’s multi-cloud and cloud-native networking solution. CloudEOS integrates with Arista CloudVision to simplify interconnecting and managing multi-cloud, cloud-native and on-premises enterprise networks. CloudEOS, deployed with Universal Cloud Network Designs, provides the elements required for building multi-cloud connectivity with consistent isolation across the entire enterprise environment.[5][6]
DANZ Monitoring Fabric (DMF) is a network packet broker for organization-wide visibility and security, delivering multi-tenant monitoring-as-a-service. DMF provides a scale-out fabric design based on merchant silicon hardware, with integrated analytics and packet recording intelligence. DMF provisions traffic processing functions including regex filtering, deduplication, slicing, masking, flow data generation/collection and application recognition through a single DMF fabric controller. Arista says DMF delivers a visibility solution for on-premise data centers, enterprise campus/branch and 4G/5G mobile networks.[7]
The 7050X3 supports speeds including 10G, 25G, 40G and 100G in compact form factors. The 7050X3 Series enables highly scalable two-tier network designs with ECMP, MLAG and VXLAN technologies. The Arista 7500R Series modular switches are universal spine switches designed for large virtualized and cloud networks. The 7500R Series combines 100G density with internet scale table sizes and L2 and L3 features. The Arista 7500R Series comes in 16, 12, 8 and 4 slot systems with wirespeed ports from 1G to 100G. The Arista 7800R3 Series modular switches are the 3rd generation of the R-Series universal spine switches. The Arista 7800R3 Series comes in 16, 12, 8 and 4 slot systems with wirespeed ports from 10G to 400G. The Arista 7800R3 Series uses a deep buffer virtual output queue (VOQ) architecture that eliminates head-of-line (HOL) blocking.[8][9][10]
The 720D series delivers wirespeed connectivity for campus user workloads and is designed for the IoT enabled campus. The 720D product family provides a range of PoE and data-only systems. The 7135LB series devices are optimized for 25G speed and use a programmable FPGA integrated with L1 connectivity. The 7135LB comes in a 1RU form factor with 48 x SFP28 ports and 4 x QSFP ports and performs layer 1+ switching in 5ns at 25G speed.[11][12]
Arista routing solutions cater to use cases for cloud, service providers and enterprises. Arista’s 7280R3 Universal Leaf and 7500R3 and 7800R3 Universal Spine platforms are powered by Arista EOS and CloudVision. The 7800R3 series scales to 460 Tbps or 576 ports of 400G with a single consistent architecture.[1][3][5][8][11][13]
