About Airbus

Airbus is an aeronautics and space company that provides products, services and solutions for the commercial aircraft, helicopter, defence and space sectors, and it also offers security solutions covering connectivity, secure communications, emergency response, intelligence and cybersecurity.[4]

Airbus describes itself as the largest aeronautics and space company in Europe. The company says it draws on over half a century of aerospace engineering expertise. Airbus says it has more than 180 sites around the world.[4]

On security, Airbus says it aims to make societies safer through solutions for connectivity, secure communications, emergency response, intelligence and cybersecurity. Airbus says its customers are under increasing pressure to manage the transition to digital technology and make the most of their data. Airbus states that it provides customers with 24/7 global security, connectivity, reliability and intelligence services.

The security services described by Airbus include trusted data, situational awareness and smart support. Airbus says trusted data connects people and critical systems and gives access to a unique portfolio of data sources. Situational awareness is described as creating real-time awareness by mastering the toolset to process, validate, analyse, predict and deliver. Smart support is described as providing timely, actionable recommendations and enabling distributed implementation for customers, or enabling third parties to do so.

Public safety is a further line, which Airbus says allows public safety organisations to communicate and collaborate in a secure and efficient way, anytime, anywhere. Airbus also lists crisis management, which it describes as delivering the right solutions to meet the crisis management needs of today and tomorrow.

In defence, Airbus says it ensures superiority across land, air, sea, space and cyber domains with interoperable solutions. Airbus says it is the prime contractor for Europe's Future Combat Air System (FCAS). Airbus presents its Multi-Domain Combat Cloud (MDCC) as an example of cyber-resilient and cloud-based military communications.[6]

Airbus says it was founded through the industrial cooperation of four European nations: France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. Airbus SE trades under the stock exchange symbol AIR.[4][6][9]
