Mate Security
What the company sells
Mate Security is a Tel Aviv-based company that sells an AI SOC platform: software agents that investigate, hunt and respond to security alerts for enterprise security teams. It was founded in early 2025 by Asaf Wiener, Oren Saban and Guy Pergal, alumni of Wiz and Microsoft, and it came out of stealth in November 2025 with $15.5 million in seed funding from Team8 and Insight Partners. In July 2026 it raised a $35 million Series A led by Canaan Partners, with Microsoft's M12, Insight Partners and Team8 taking part, which brought its total funding to more than $50 million.
Mate's relaunched website presents the product as one agentic cyber defense system. Its homepage says Mate turns a deep understanding of the customer's organization into what it calls purified knowledge, so AI agents take the right action across security work: SOC triage and investigation, threat hunting, incident response, insider risk and DLP, exposure management, detection engineering, security engineering and security architecture. At the centre sits a Security Context Graph. The platform page says every fact in the graph carries source, confidence and freshness, and that Mate captures why an analyst made a call, not just the final verdict.
Investigations follow Gamebooks, structured processes inside which the agents reason step by step, and Mate translates a customer's existing SOAR playbooks into Gamebooks. Before a response action runs, the platform scores it on confidence, precision and reversibility, and precision means the smallest action that stops the threat, such as revoking a session while keeping the account. New deployments start in shadow mode on the customer's real alerts. SecurityWeek reported that the product integrates with SIEM, EDR and email security platforms.
The homepage publishes three headline figures: 98.7% accuracy, 97% false-positive auto-closure and 6.1X investigation coverage. It quotes the security chiefs of Bridgewater Associates, Lead Bank, Merlin Entertainments, OCBC, AlphaSense, Applied Systems and Demandbase, and the managed security provider Water-IT. Mate is listed on AWS Marketplace, took part in the 2026 startup accelerator run by CrowdStrike with AWS and NVIDIA, and lists Gartner's Emerging AI SOC Vendor Solutions research from July 2026 among its industry recognition.[1][3][4][6][7][9]
