Who runs security this week: InMobi Group, Anduril and 8 more

Ten CISO moves this week: six appointments and four departures. Three organizations announced an exit and its successor on the same day.

This week on the Wire

  • Aditya Kumar appointed CISO at InMobi Group (September 23)
  • Joe McCaffrey departs as CISO at Anduril (September 22); successor unknown
  • Jochen Stechert appointed Director of IT and CISO at Munich Security Conference (September 21)
  • Basil Dange departs as CISO at Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Limited (September 18)
  • Rishi Awasthi appointed CISO and Senior Management Personnel at Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Limited (September 18)
  • Simon Lambe departs as CISO at National Energy System Operator (September 18)
  • Purvi Kay appointed CISO at National Energy System Operator (September 18)
  • Tetsuya Iwase appointed Director, Managing Executive Officer, and CISO at The Hyakujushi Bank (September 18)
  • Ralph Johnson departs as State CISO at Washington Technology Solutions (September 18)
  • Gwen Gann appointed State CISO at Washington Technology Solutions (September 18)

Three of this week's four departures arrived with a named successor the same day: Dange to Awasthi at Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC, Lambe to Kay at NESO, and Johnson to Gann at WaTech. Anduril named no replacement when McCaffrey's exit was reported. That split matches the pattern in our new analysis, Named successor or empty chair: what 2026's CISO exits show, which finds that nine of fifteen 2026 departures came with a replacement announced simultaneously, while the remaining six opened seats that stayed vacant for weeks or longer.
